SECTION 001113 – ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Notice is hereby given that the Randolph County Commission will accept sealed bids for the Randolph County Courthouse – Window Restoration project, located at 2 Randolph Ave, Elkins, West Virginia.

The work includes restoration of historic wood windows and installation of aluminum storm windows at the historic Courthouse.

Sealed bids will be received by the Randolph County Commission on or before 1:30 P.M. Thursday, March 10, 2016. Sealed bids must be delivered to the Randolph County Commission, 38 West Main Street, Buckhannon, West Virginia.

At that time all sealed bids will be opened and read aloud. Interested parties are invited to attend the bid opening. Any bids received after the deadline will not be accepted.Prospective bidders may purchase copies of Bidding Documents from the Architect. Cost of Bidding Documents is $40 per set, plus any shipping and handling fees. These costs are non-refundable. Documents may be inspected, free of charge, at the following locations:

A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Commission chambers located at 4 Randolph Ave, Suite 102, Elkins, West Virginia. ATTENDANCE IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED, but not required. The meeting will include reviewing the drawings and visiting the project site.

A certified check or bank draft, payable to Randolph County Commission, or satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable sureties in an amount equal to five percent (5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the base bid must be submitted with each bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory performance and payment bonds signed by a West Virginia agent. Bids will be made on a lump sum basis.

No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the time of bid opening without the consent of the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and waive any irregularity therein.
