PUBLIC NOTICE

The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) is considering a request for Federal assistance from the Canaan Valley Public Service District to construct a new wastewater treatment facility in Tucker County, WV. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), EDA is conducting an assessment of the potential of the proposed project to affect the environment and/or historic properties. Notice is hereby given that the project is proposed to be located in, or may affect, a floodplain as defined by Executive Order (EO) 11988.

The project will construct a new wastewater treatment plant to replace the existing treatment facility serving the Canaan Valley State Park and surrounding areas. The project will be located at 230 Main Lodge Road, Davis, West Virginia 26260. Project information is available for review at the Canaan Valley PSD office, 157 Bensland Road, Davis, WV 26260. Comments received in the EDA Regional Office by 5:00 pm eastern on June 13, 2022 will be considered. A copy of the NEPA/NHPA decisional document will be available upon request at the above EDA Regional Office.
