No.: WV0114618 Applicant: HUNTINGTON ALLOYS CORPORATION 3200 RIVERSIDE DR HUNTINGTON, WV 25705-1771 Location: HUNTINGTON, CABELL COUNTY Latitude: 38:25:05 Longitude: 82:23:17 Receiving Stream: UT GUYANDOTTE Activity: To operate and maintain a metal’s reclaim tailings earthen impoundment and temporary storage area for the treatment and storage of industrial waste in the drainage basin of Pat’s Branch, a tributary of the Guyandotte River, a tributary of the Ohio River. There shall be no discharge of process wastewater from the facility to waters of the State. Also, to operate and maintain best management practices and disposal systems for the discharge of untreated industrial wastes (stormwater only) from Outlets 001 and 002 into Pat’s Branch, a tributary of the Lower Guyandotte River, approximately 0.78 miles from the mouth of the Ohio River. Tier 1 protection is provided for the uses specified in 47 CSR 2, Section 6. Business conducted: This facility manufactures nickel and high nickel alloys in various shapes, ingots, sheets, strips, rods, and tubes through melting, tube reducing, rolling, heat treating, machining, grinding, etc. Implementation: NA On the basis of review of the application, the “Water Pollution Control Act (Chapter 22, Article 11-8(a)),” and the “West Virginia Legislative Rules,” the State of West Virginia will act on the above application. Any interested person may submit written comments on the draft permit and may request a public hearing by addressing such to the Director of the Division of Water and Waste Management within 30 days of the date of the public notice. The Director shall hold a public hearing whenever a finding is made, on the basis of requests, that there is a significant degree of public interest on issues relevant to the Draft Permit(s).
