Notice is hereby given that JEP MINING, LLC, 4547 ANJEAN ROAD, RUPERT, WV 25984 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 422.7 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S300915 to coal surface and highwall Mine in the Castle, Sewell, Sewell A and Sewell B seam of coal. The operation is discharging into unnamed tributaries of/and the North Fork of Big Clear Creek, Smokehouse Branch of South Fork of Big Clear Creek and unnamed tributaries of/and Big Clear Creek of Meadow River of Gauley River of Kanawha River and is located 6.4 miles, northwest of Quinwood in Meadow Bluff District of Greenbrier County, Longitude 80o, 35′, 16″ and Latitude 38o, 4′, 33″ (Coordinates form USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until October 28, 2023, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
