Take Notice that, pursuant to Code of Virginia, Section 45.2-1632.E. the undersigned operator proposes to file, or has filed, an application for gas and oil operations known as CBM AA35I W/PL with the Virginia Department of Energy under Code of Virginia, Section 45.2-1631, with respect to an operation on the Coal Mountain Mining Company LLC tract of 44.75 acres, more or less. Buchanan Mining Company LLC tract of 34 acres, more or less. tract(s) in the Garden District, BUCHANAN City/County, Virginia

The application is on file with the Virginia Department of Energy identifying the proposed location and all work to be performed at the described site. Any inquiries should be directed to the Gas and Oil Team at 276 415-9700.

Code of Virginia Section 45.2-1632 identifies persons with rights to file objections to the gas and oil operation. Persons objecting to a permit must state their reasons for objecting within 15 days of the date of receipt of notice. Written objections must be filed with the Virginia Department of Energy, Gas and Oil Director, 3405 Mountain Empire Road, Big Stone Gap, VA 24219.

NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO CHANGE SEWER RATES

On February 8, 2024, Center Public Service District filed with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia an Application an Application requesting increased rates and charges for furnishing sewer service to approximately 833 customers in Wyoming County, West Virginia.

The Staff of the Public Service Commission has reviewed the Application and recommended increased rates and charges designed to produce approximately $101,800 annually in additional revenue, an overall increase of 15.27%, for approximately twelve months. Afterwards, Step 2 rates would take effect and generate a revenue increase of $70,472 annually, which is a 10.57% increase over the rates in effect prior to the case. The current and recommended rates are as follows:

Anyone desiring to review the Staff recommendation report may do so on the Commission website (www.psc.state.wv.us). Anyone desiring to protest the changed rates and charges must do-so, in writing, within ten (10) days of the date of publication of this notice. All protests may be filed on line through the Commission website using the “Submit a Comment” link or may be mailed to the Executive Secretary, Public Service Commission of West Virginia, P.O. Box 812, 201 Brooks Street, Charleston, West Virginia 25323, or hand-delivered to the Public Service Commission. To help the Commission determine the justification for additional review and investigation, protests must be specific as to reasons that the changed rates and charges should be modified.

The Commission may adopt rates and charges which are the same as, greater than or less than the Staff-recommended rates and charges.
