Notice is hereby given that MARFORK COAL COMPANY, LLC, PO BOX 457, 370 PACKVILLE/MARFORK ROAD, WHITESVILLE, WV 25209 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 85.21 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number U300204 to maintain and operate an underground coal mine and related facilities in the No 2 gas and Powellton seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into Clays Branch, Sturgeon Fork and Unnamed Tributaries of/and Dry Creek and Horse Creek all of Marsh Fork; Unnamed Tributary of/and Raines Fork of Sycamore Creek and Unnamed Tributary of/and Right Fork of Sycamore Creek of and Workman Creek of Clear Fork all of Big Coal River of Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 4.1 miles, southeast of Dorothy in Marsh Fork District of Raleigh County, Longitude 81° 25 ‘ 48 “ and Latitude 37° 54’ 19” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map)
