Notice is hereby given that Greenbrier Smokeless Coal Mining, LLC, 100 Bill Baker Way, Beckley, WV 25801 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 531.6 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S300314 to surface, contour and highwall mine in the Hughes Ferry, Castle, Sewell A, Sewell, Lower Sewell and all associated splits and riders of each seam of coal. The operation is discharging into unnamed tributaries of/and Brown Creek and unnamed tributaries of/and Sam Creek and unnamed tributaries of Big Clear Creek and Big Clear Creek of Meadow River of Gauley River of Kanawha River and is located 3.3 miles, southeast of Quinwood in Meadow Bluff District of Greenbrier County, Longitude 80° 38’ 30” and Latitude 38° 02’ 51” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map)
