Notice is hereby given that LEXINGTON COAL COMPANY, LLC, PO BOX 58370, CHARLESTON, WV 25358, has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 77.11 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number U304292 to operate and maintain an underground coal mine in the Eagle seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into Irene Hollow, Wolfpen Branch, Road Fork, and Board Tree Hollow all of Hazy Creek and Upper Big Branch both of Marsh Fork and West Fork of Pond Fork of Little Coal River all of Big Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 4.9 miles, northwest of NAOMA in MARSH FORK and Crook District of Raleigh and Boone County, Longitude 81° 33’ 5” and Latitude 37° 55’ 3” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
