Notice is hereby given that BROOKS RUN SOUTH MINING, LLC, P O BOX 460, BRENTON, WV 24818 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840 for a significant permit revision to Article 3 permit number U301512 in order to add 2,348.20 acres of underground mining in the Pocahontas No. 3 Seam.
The revised permit will discharge into Unnamed tributaries of/and Shop Branch and unnamed tributaries of/and Wolf Pen Branch both of Indian Creek, and unnamed tributaries of/and Big Branch, all of of the Guyandotte River
(Receiving Stream) of OHIO RV (Major Subbasin) and is located 2.11 (miles), Southeast (Direction) of Brenton (Nearest PO), in the Baileysville & Center District of Wyoming County, Longitude 81 37 2 and Latitude 37 34 21 (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the surface mining application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until June 23, 2025, or thirty (30) days from date of final publication.
