PUBLIC NOTICE
INVITATION TO BID
The City of Weirton is accepting bids for the following:
ROAD DE-ICING SALT FOR
FISCAL YEAR 2025/2026
A Pre-Bid Conference Meeting has been scheduled concerning the above item for Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at the City of Weirton’s Public Works Department, 100 Tell Street, Weirton, WV. This is not a Mandatory Meeting
Sealed bids will be publicly opened at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the Weirton Public Works Building, 100 Tell Street, Weirton, WV 26062.
Firms or individuals desiring to submit bids on the above item may obtain detailed specifications and requirements by contacting the Department of Public Works, 100 Tell Street, Weirton, WV 26062, or by calling 304-797-8500, Extension 3002.
Please be advised that a Five (5%) Bid Bond, Non-Collusion Affidavit, State of West Virginia Affidavit, and Bid Sheet must accompany all bids or it will not be accepted. Bid Bond may be in the form of a Certified Check drawn on the bidder’s account and made payable to the City of Weirton.
All bids must be received by July 2, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. and submitted in a sealed envelope designated as:
“PROPOSAL FOR ROAD DE-ICING SALT” and delivered or mailed to:
“CITY OF WEIRTON,
100 Tell St.,
Weirton, WV, 26062.”
ATTENTION: Allen Hess, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS.
In accordance with City Ordinance No. 973, a Five Percent (5%) preference for resident vendors shall be in effect.
The contract to furnish the above item as herein advertised will be awarded by Weirton City Council to the firm or persons submitting the bid deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Weirton.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received, and to accept any bid which it deems most favorable.
