Notice is hereby given that Reflectance Energy, LLC, 200 George St., Suite 4, Beckley, WV has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Division of Mining and Reclamation (DMR) located at 1101 George Kostas Drive, Logan, West Virginia 25601 for the surface mining of 228.2 acres and has submitted an application to the WVDEP for Renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S501006 to operate and maintain a coal surface mine in the Upper Cedar Grove, Lower Cedar Grove, Alma, and Pond Creek, and all splits thereof seams of coal. The proposed operation is discharging into Pickering Branch, Baisden Fork, Lefthand Fork, and Steer Hollow of Gilbert Creek and White Oak Branch, Trace Fork of Little Cub Creek of Little Huff Creek of the Guyandotte River and Long Pole Creek and Sim’s Fork of Long Pole Creek of the Tug Fork River and is located 3.0 miles Southwest of Baisden in Stafford District of Mingo County, Longitude 81° 51’ 51”, Latitude 37° 32’ 56”. Written comments and/or requests for a formal conference of the surface mining application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the WVDEP address above until September 11, 2025, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
