PRE-BID CONFERENCE AND REQUEST FOR BIDS
The City of Weirton is seeking sealed bids for the following project:
REMOVAL AND CONSTRUCTION OF ADA CURB-RAMPS (FEDERAL CDBG FUNDED)
A Pre-Bid Conference Meeting concerning the above item will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2025, at the Public Works Department Office, 100 Tell Street, Weirton, West Virginia. Attendance of the Pre-Bid Conference Meeting is not required for bid submittal .
Sealed bids will be publicly opened at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025 , at the Weirton City Building, 200 Municipal Plaza, Weirton, West Virginia. Room 201.
Firms or individuals desiring to submit bids on the above item may obtain a Bid Packet by attending the Pre-Bid Meeting or requesting a packet from The Public Works Department, 100 Tell Street, Weirton, WV 26062.
Please be advised that a Ten Percent (10% Bid Bond, a Completed Non-Collusion Affidavit, State of West Virginia Affidavit and Bid Sheet must accompany all bids or bid will not be accepted.
Bid Bond may be in the form of a Certified Check drawn on the bidder’s account and made payable to the City of Weirton . All bids received must be submitted in a sealed envelope and labeled as “SEALED BID FOR REMOVING AND CONSTRUCTION OF ADA CURBING (CDBG FUNDED)”, and delivered or mailed to: City of Weirton, 200 Municipal Plaza, Weirton, WV 26062, Attention: Allen Hess, Public Works Director
In accordance with City Ordinance No. 973, a Five Percent ( 5%) preference for Resident Vendors shall be in effect.
Davis Bacon federal wage rates, as established by the U.S. Department of Labor, and other Federal Labor Standard Provisions apply. Bidders shall comply with all State and Federal laws prohibiting discrimination in hiring or employment opportunities.
The contract to furnish said construction work as herein advertised will be awarded by City Council to the lowest responsible bid, deemed to be in the best interest of the City of Weirton. The City of Weirton reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive any informalities or irregularities in the bids received, and to accept any bids which it deems most favorable.
It is the policy of the City of Weirton to provide equal opportunities for City contracting for socially and economically Disadvantaged Business Enterprises (DBEs), Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs), and Women’s Business Enterprises (WBEs). It is also policy of the City to prohibit discrimination against any firm in pursuit of these opportunities, to conduct its contracting activities so as to prevent such discrimination, to correct present effects of past discrimination, and to resolve complaints of such discrimination.
