Notice is hereby given that POCAHONTAS COAL COMPANY, LLC, 109 Appalachian Drive, Beckley, WV 25801 has submitted an application with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840 for a Phase 1 release on Permit Number S300711 Increment Number 3 issued for 70.0 acres.
The permit is located in Slab Fork District of Raleigh County, 2.9 miles southeast of Rhodell (Nearest Post Office) on unnamed tributaries of/and Tommy Creek of Stonecoal Creek of Winding Gulf and unnamed tributaries of/and Devil's Fork, all of Guyandotte River of Middle Ohio River 2.
Pocahontas Coal Company, LLC completed backfilling and regrading on 03/12/2015 and is requesting release of 60 percent of the reclamation performance bond currently in the amount of $89,600.00.
