NOTICE OF PROPOSED
CONVEYANCE
OF UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY
(WEST FARMINGTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH)

Notice is hereby given that Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after November 27th, 2025 QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to James Brandon Hudson, all of their right, title and interest in and to the following described lots or parcels of land, lying in Farmington Corp., Marion County, West Virginia, and bounded and described as follows, to-wit:

PARCEL ONE

TWO CERTAIN LOTS known as #7 & 8 lots in West Farmington lying on Buffalow Creek in Marion Co. W. Va. and containing each 30 Sqr Rods and adjoins Main St and an Alley.

And being the same property conveyed to The Trustees of the Farmington Circuit of M. E. Church South from E. J. Mires by Deed dated July 25, 1900 and recorded in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Marion County, West Virginia in Deed Book 103, at page 452, reference to which is hereby made.

PARCEL TWO

ALL THAT certain parcel of land with improvements thereon situate on Church Street (formerly Main Street), and being a part of Lot No.8 on the West Farmington plat, that is to say:

BEGINNING at an iron pin along the line of Church Street, thence N. 61° 00' W. 43 feet and corner to Church Street and an alley; thence with said alley N. 29° E. 66.2 feet to an iron pin in the line of said alley; thence S. 61° E. 00' 43 feet to an iron pin; thence S. 29° W. 66.20 feet to the place of beginning, upon which parcel of land there is a church building.

And being the same property conveyed to The Trustees of M. E. Church South, and their successors in office, from Trustees of the Parsonage of the M. E. Church South, by Deed dated November 3, 1966 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk's Office in Deed Book 707, at page 352, reference to which is hereby made.

Excepting and reserving, however, the following described tract or parcel which was conveyed from the Trustees of the West Farmington United Methodist Church to Robert L. Frame and Shirley A. Frame by Deed dated October 21, 1985 and recorded in the aforesaid Clerk's Office in Deed Book 863, at Page 416 and described as follows:

BEGINNING at a pin located in the southern boundary of Main Street and running thence N. 29° 00' E. 66.20 feet to an iron pin; thence N. 61° 00' W. 2.57 feet; thence N. 29° 00' E. 14.30 feet to a pin; thence S. 61° 00' E. 32.07 feet to a pin; thence S. 29° 00' W. 3.85 feet; thence S. 61° 00' E. 10 feet to a pin; thence S. 29° 00' W. 76.65 feet to the southern boundary of said Main Street; thence N. 61° 00' W. 39.50 feet to the point of beginning and containing 3216.50 square feet, more or less, and being all of that property shown on a plat dated July 1985 made by McCoy Surveying Company, Inc. which plat is recorded at Page 423 and made part hereof.

Said West Mannington United Methodist Church was closed effective July 21, 2024 by resolution of a majority of the District Superintendents of the West Virginia Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church.
