A Public Hearing for the Board of Zoning Appeals is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, 2020 in Council Chambers, Weirton City Building, 4:30 P.M.. The purpose of this regular meeting is to review the following applications:
a) Weirton Fitness Complex, is requesting a variance from the City of Weirton Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Article 18, Table 8 which requires that the aggregate area for all signs is be limited to one (1) square foot per one (1) lineal foot of store frontage in a PDD district for a multi-occupant building. The proposed wall sign to be placed is 158 square feet. The maximum allowable aggregate area for the store frontage is 67 square feet at 243 Three Springs Drive (Tax Map W3, Parcel 21).
b) Steel Town Auto Sale, is requesting a variance from the City of Weirton Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Article 18, Table 8 which requires a 5-foot setback from the right of way in a C3 district for a single occupant building. The proposed monument sign to be placed is 3 feet from the sidewalk. 3135 Main Street (Tax Map W42M, Parcel 21).
Applicants must appear in person; all interested parties may appear in person or be represented by agent or attorneys or submit comments in writing giving reasons for either granting or denying this petition.
