A Public Hearing for the Board of Zoning Appeals is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, 2020 in Council Chambers, Weirton City Building, 4:30 P.M. The purpose of this regular meeting is to review the following applications:
a) Kody Green, 520 Greenbrier Road, requests a variance to expand his non-conforming business. The applicant wishes to add a metal building. (Tax Map W43F, Parcel 102, zoned R-1 Single Family Residential.)
b) Kody Green, 520 Greenbrier Road, requests a variance from the Unified Development Ordinance Table 2 Development Standards, which requires an accessory structure in an R1 district be located behind the rear wall of the principal structure. The metal building would be located on the side of existing building towards Greenbrier Road. (Tax Map W43F, Parcel 102, zoned R-1 Single Family Residential.)
c) Aladdin Signs, on behalf of Loon Family LCC, is requesting a variance from the City of Weirton Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Article 18, Table 8 which states the maximum height of a monument sign is 10 ft. in a C2 district. The proposed monument sign to be placed has a height of 12 ft. and 33 in. at 314 Penco Road (Tax Map: W34H Parcel: 45).
d) DeNoon Lumber Company, on behalf of Williams Country Club, is requesting a Conditional Use for a timbering project on approximately 3 acres on Williams Drive (Tax Map W42, Parcel 2). Timbering activities in all zoning districts require Board approval.
Applicants must appear in person; all interested parties may appear in person or be represented by agent or attorneys or submit comments in writing giving reasons for either granting or denying this petition.
