APPLICATION FOR WEST VIRGINIA SOLID WASTE FACILITY
PERMIT RENEWAL

The following has applied to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection for the renewal of a solid waste facility permit.

Location: Located off Randolph County, Route 21, south of US Highway 219/250 in Valley Bend District,
Randolph County, approximately 1/4 mile north of the Daily Post Office.
Activity: Solid Waste Transfer Station and Recycling Center

The applicant may receive a maximum of 2,999 tons/month of the following types of waste: municipal solid waste, including, but not limited to, paper, glass, metal, food waste, construction/demolition debris, and household waste. Bulky and white goods may be place in containers for proper management. This facility may place containers to collect and transfers recyclable materials. No infectious or hazardous waste will be accepted at this facility.

The waste stream for municipal solid waste, bulky and white goods, and recyclable materials will originate from Randolph County and surrounding areas, and commercial haulers.

The center of the site is 38* 47′ 54″ N latitude and 79* 53′ 42″ W longitude.

On the basis of review of the application, the Solid Waste Management Act, Chapter 22, Article 15, Section 5(b) and 5(c), and 33CSR1 West Virginia Solid Waste Management Rule, the State of West Virginia will act on the above application.

Interested persons may submit written comments during the 30-day public comment period, which begins on April 14, 2021 and ends on May 14, 2021, to the following address:

Comments received within this time period will be considered prior to any state action on the subject application. Correspondence should include the name, address, and telephone number of the writer and a concise statement of the nature of the issues addressed.

A public hearing may be held if the state identifies a significant degree of public interest on issues relevant to the permit application. To obtain further information concerning the subject application, or to request a public hearing, interested persons may contact the Division of Water and Waste Management during the public comment period at the above address.

The draft permit will be on file for public review during the comment period at the DEP regional office located at 22288 Northwestern Pike, Romney, WV 26757, 304-822-7266, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
