A Public Hearing for the Board of Zoning Appeals is scheduled for Tuesday, October 5, 2021 in Weirton Room, Milsop Community Center, 4:30 P.M. The purpose of this regular meeting is to review the following applications:
New Business
a) Tea Tun, 210 Three Springs Drive, is requesting a variance from the City of Weirton Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Article 18, Table 8 which permits only one (1) wall sign per business in a C2 district for multi-occupant Buildings. The second proposed wall sign to be placed is additional 12 square feet. (Tax Map W3, Parcel 0021).
b) Aladdin Signs, on behalf of Tudors, 3620 Main Street, is requesting a variance from the City of Weirton Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Article 18, Table 8 which permits only one (1) wall sign per business in a C1 district for single occupant buildings. The second proposed wall sign to be placed is additional 24 square feet. (Tax Map W42S, Parcel 0314).
c) Aladdin Signs, on behalf of Tudors, 3620 Main Street, is requesting a variance from the City of Weirton Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Article 18, Table 8 which permits hundred (100) square feet maximum area for a pole sign in a C1 district for single occupant buildings. The proposed EMC replacement is additional 15 square feet. (Tax Map W42S, Parcel 0314).
d) Aladdin Signs, on behalf of Madison Acquisition, 253 Three Springs Drive, is requesting a variance from the City of Weirton Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Article 18, Table 8 which permits .75 square feet per 1 lineal street frontage maximum area for a pole sign in a C2 district for multi-occupant buildings. The proposed new panels will be an additional 220 square feet to the existing pole sign. (Tax Map 00W3, Parcel 0020).
e) Denoon Lumber Company, on behalf of Starvaggi Indrustries, is requesting a Conditional Use for a timbering project on approximately 67 acres off of Stravaggi Drive (Tax Map W44A-96, W40-3 &6, and W-44B-1). Timbering activities in all zoning districts require Board approval.
f) Dennoon Lumber, on behalf of Mingo Junction Steel Works LLC, is requesting a Conditional Use for a timbering project on approximately 50 acres off of County Road (Tax Map W44N, Parcel 24). Timbering activities in all zoning districts require Board approval.
g) Trumco Forest Products, on behalf of Francis Wargacki, is requesting a Conditional Use for a timbering project on approximately 92 acres off of Nicholas Drive (Tax Map W38M, Parcel 104). Timbering activities in all zoning districts require Board approval.
h) SWN Production Company LLC, on behalf of Brownlee Land Ventures L.P., is requesting a Conditional Use for a timbering project on approximately 13 acres off of Park Drive (Tax Map 00W3 Parcel 0004). Timbering activities in all zoning districts require Board approval.
Applicants must appear in person; all interested parties may appear in person or be represented by agent or attorneys or submit comments in writing giving reasons for either granting or denying this petition.
