PAVING ON DAWSON STREET

Berkeley Springs Water Works is requesting bids from qualified contractors for roadway restoration work on Dawson Street associated with waterline installation. The project consists of furnishing all labor, materials, equipment and supervision necessary to remove and restore portions of the roadway.

Work shall include removing the first 24 feet of Dawson Street at its intersection with Ewing Street, excavating approximately 6 inches of existing material and hauling and disposing of all removed material off-site. In addition, the contractor shall mill approximately 500 feet along the waterline trench to a depth of 6 inches and similarly remove and dispose of all milled material. The contractor shall then furnish and install 3 inches of compacted stone base course followed by 3 inches of bituminous blacktop base course within the trench area and the removed section of Dawson Street. A transverse joint shall be milled across Dawson Street to ensure a smooth tie-in, after which the roadway shall be swept and properly prepared for paving. The project shall be completed by furnishing and installing a 1.5-inch average depth 19mm binder course and a 1.5-inch surface course overlay across the repaired pavement and adjacent existing pavement to provide a uniform finished surface.

The contractor must possess a valid Town of Bath business license and comply with all local, state and applicable regulatory requirements. Bidders are responsible for verifying field conditions prior to submission. Bids will be accepted until July 8, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. and shall be delivered to 271 Wilkes Street, Berkeley Springs, WV 25411.
