WIRT COUNTY PRIMARY & MIDDLE SCHOOL FIRE ALARM AND HVAC MODIFICATIONS
The West Virginia School Building Authority has approved funding for a Needs project with several components. This project involves a portion of the Needs project and includes a new Fire Alarm System and new HVAC System for the Gymnasium.
Sealed proposals for:
Wirt County Primary & Middle School: Fire Alarm and HVAC Modifications
ó Bid Item #01 Fire Alarm Contractor (Electrical)
ó Bid Item #02 HVAC Contractor (Mechanical)
will be received by the Wirt County Board of Education, MaryJane Pope-Albin, Superintendent, 389 Mulberry Street, Elizabeth, WV 26143, until 1:00 PM local time on Friday, August 31, 2018. (Bids received after this time will not be accepted); at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. After opening, the bids will be compared as to quality, thoroughness, and cost by the Owner and Architect/Engineer (OWPR, Inc.). Lump sum bids are being solicited for Work included in the above referenced Bid Items for the Project indicated.
The contract documents (digital) may be obtained on or after August 9, 2018 for download from ShareFile upon receipt of a nonrefundable check in the amount of $25.00. Addenda shall be issued via ShareFile. Upon receipt of check and valid email address, OWPR will provide a password with instructions on accessing and downloading the contract documents. This is a Multiple Prime Contractor project. OWPR, Inc., the Architect/Engineer, will conduct a MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Wirt County Board of Education, 389 Mulberry Street, Elizabeth, WV 26143; all interested Prime Contractor bidders are REQUIRED to attend. Interested sub-contractors and material suppliers are also encouraged to attend. The purpose of the pre-bid conference is to familiarize the Bidders with bidding requirements and to answer questions regarding the Bidding Documents.
All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, executed by the Bidder and an acceptable Surety, in an amount equal to 5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} of the bid. The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for a 100{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c} Performance and Material Payment Bond in the amount of the bid (including all add alternates), as described in the Instructions to Bidders. Each bidder shall ensure that all employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, creed, color, sex, or national origin.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty (30) days after the bid opening. The Owner reserves the right to conduct such investigation as necessary to determine the responsibility of a bidder, and to the extent permitted by state law; Wirt County Schools reserves the right to reject any and all bids, and to make selections from the bids that are solely in the best interest of Wirt County Schools.
