ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
Sealed Bids for the construction of the HVAC Renovation will be received by Grafton Housing Authority, 131 East Main Street Grafton, Taylor County, West Virginia, until 2:00pm, L.P.T., on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, for furnishing labor and materials and performing all Work set forth in the Contract Documents prepared by The Thrasher Group, Inc. Immediately following the scheduled closing time for the reception of Bids, all proposals which have been submitted in accordance with the conditions of the Contract Documents will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The approximate quantities of work to be bid upon are described as follows:
The work includes demolition of existing HVAC unit enclosure, replacement of the fan coil units and enclosure, including rough framing, and drywall finish to each of the 111 units located in apartments or other locations as indicated on the plans in the existing Cather Towers Building. Contractors will be required to patch and repair as required for the carpet flooring, wall base and hard ceiling. The fan coil units will be provided directly by the owner and installed by the contractor.
The Work will be substantially completed within 75 calendar days after the Notice to Proceed Final Completion will be 15 calendar days after substantial completion. Liquidated damages shall be $500.00 per day.

Complete sets of Bidding Documents may be obtained from the office of The Thrasher Group, Inc., 600 White Oaks Boulevard, P.O. Box 940, Bridgeport, WV 26330, for the following costs:
¯ Bidding Documents issued as hard copy drawings and hard copy specifications are available for $50 per set.
¯ Bidding Documents issued as digital drawings and digi tal specifications via an email link are at no cost.
Amounts paid are not subject to refund.
A two envelope system will be used.
Envelope No. 1 must have the following information presented on the front:
Name and address of Bidder
Bid on Concrete Ceiling Repair
Received by the Grafton Housing Authority
Envelope No. 2 labeled âBid Proposalã shall also be placed inside of Envelope #1.
Envelope No. 1 will be opened first, and the Bid Opening Requirement items checked for compliance as outlined on the Bid Opening Checklist on page BOR – 1 of these contract documents. If such documents are found to be in order, Envelope No. 2 âBid Proposalã, will then be opened and will be publicly read aloud. If the documents required to be contained in Envelope No. 1 are not in order, Envelope No. 2 â Bid Proposalã will not be opened and the Bid will be considered non-responsive and will be returned to the Bidder.
A Bidder may not withdraw his bid for a period of ninety (90)¬ days after the date set for the opening of Bids.
Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check or bid bond payable to Grafton Housing Authority in an amount equal to five percent (5{4ceb532c6f579389df471c6c1e832caf2346b74dc60fcbf6aabd4d29df3baf9c}) of the base bid.
Contractor is required to provide the Drug Free Workplace Certification in accordance with WV Code 21-1D-5.
All Bidders are required to have a West Virginia Contractorás License per Section Œ21-11-11 of the West Virginia Code.
Bids received after the scheduled closing time for the reception of bids will be returned unopened to the bidders.
The Grafton Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any and all bids.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 2:00 pm L.P.T., on Tuesday, June 25, 2019 at the Grafton Housing Authority located at 131 East Main Street, Grafton, Taylor County, West Virginia. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is highly encouraged but is not mandatory.
