DEMOLITION
The City of Princeton is now accepting bids for the DEMOLITION and DISPOSAL of three (3) building structures being described as Mixed Use Commercial, and Located at 538, 604, and 606 Mercer ST., Princeton, WV. Qualified bidders shall have until 2:00 p.m. on the date Thursday, October 31st, 2019, to submit their bids to Bill J. Buzzo, Jr., Code Enforcement Director, 800 Bee Street, Princeton, WV 24740. Bids will be publicly opened and read at the time and date required for submission, in the Code Enforcement Conference Room at 800 Bee Street, Princeton, WV. Prospective bidders are encouraged to attend a Pre-Bid Conference on the date of Thursday, October 24th, 2019, at the time of 2:00 p.m., to be held on the job site located at 538 Mercer Street, Princeton, WV.

Bids shall comply with the standards set forth in the Invitation to Bid (ITB) packet, and printed copies of the Bid Packet shall be available to bidders by request at the offices of the Code Enforcement Department at 800 Bee Street, Princeton, WV, during regular business hours, or may be requested to be sent by USPS by contacting by phone at 304-487-5022. Each Bid must be submitted in a sealed envelope and clearly marked on the outside of the envelope “Bid for Demolition of 538,604,606 Mercer Street”.

The City of Princeton will evaluate all bids submitted to determine the lowest and best bid. The City of Princeton reserves the right to reject any and all bids in response to this Invitation to Bid (ITB), and to waive any irregularities, nonconformities, or non-compliance with the terms of the ITB.

All bidders will be required to show proof of having all appropriate licenses and meet all qualifications required by the statutes of the State of West Virginia and the City of Princeton, including state contractor’s license and City business license, and proof of insurance. The successful bidder will be required to perform the work within 45 calendar DAYS from the Notice to Proceed date, to obtain a building permit, and follow all regulations concerning demolition. Failure to finish the project within the specified time, after the notice to proceed is issued to the successful bidder, will result in the revocation of the bid award and the retraction of the offer. The selected candidate will be responsible for any asbestos abatement that may be necessary to remove the structure(s) involved as identified in the asbestos inspection reports that will be supplied in the ITB packet. The contractor is responsible for all necessary asbestos related permits, licenses, etc. Any contractor submitting a bid on this project hereby certifies, indicates and acknowledges that he/she has a valid contractor’s license, and meets all qualifications required by the State of WV and the City of Princeton.
