Notice is hereby given that POCAHONTAS COAL COMPANY, LLC, 109 Appalachian Drive, Beckley, WV 25801 has submitted an application with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840 for a Phase 1 release on Permit Number S301013 Increment Number 2 issued for 36.42 acres.
The permit is located in Slab Fork District of Raleigh County, 1.8 miles south of Rhodell (Nearest Post Office) on unnamed tributaries of/and Beetree Branch of Devils Fork and unnamed tributaries of/and Devils Fork, unnamed tributaries of/and Big Branch, unnamed tributaries of/and Copmer Branch of Barkers Creek, all of the Upper Guyandotte River.
Pocahontas Coal Company, LLC completed backfilling and regrading on 9/29/2020 and is requesting release of 60 percent of the reclamation performance bond currently in the amount of $39,960.00.
