NOTICE TO CUSTOMERS
To maintain necessary clearances for safe and reliable electric service, Appalachian Power Company plans to manage vegetation along the Hartland – Bickmore portion of its 12-kilovolt distribution system in Clay County, WV. On or about November 27th, 2023, contract crews will begin to trim and remove trees and brush and apply herbicides along our rights-of-way. Work will be done in accordance with International Society of Arboriculture guidelines and consider factors such as tree species, growth characteristics, line voltage, etc. In unmaintained or undeveloped areas cuttings will remain on site to minimize soil disturbance and to promote biodegradation.
Rights-of-way in this area involved in the program are: Hartland Rd., State Rt. 16, Carver Fork Rd., Beechy Ridge Rd., Fola Rd, Grassy Fork Rd., Pack Fork Rd., Bob Reedy Rd., Jesse Reedy Rd., Leatherwood Rd., Middle Cr., Osborne Fork Rd., Upper Sycamore Creek, Big Sycamore Creek, Brown Hollow Rd., and Black Cherry Lane.
Representatives will attempt to personally contact resident property owners at least seven business days prior to working on their property.
