CASE NO.

PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION OF WEST VIRGINIA
CHARLESTON

CASE NO. 19-0112-PWD-PC
MERCER COUNTY COMMISSION, a public utility,
Petition for consent and approval to expand the service Authority of Lashmeet Public Service District.

NOTICE OF FILING

On February 8, 2019, the Mercer County Commission filed a petition with the West Virginia Public Service Commission for consent and approval to enlarge and expand the boundaries of the Lashmeet Public Service District, pursuant to W. Va. Code 16-13A-2. The Mercer County Commission has concluded that the Lashmeet Public Service District boundary modification is necessary to serve certain areas of Mercer County that are without a constant, consistent supply of potable water. The extension will allow for economic development of the area, provide short-term construction jobs to residents of Mercer County and in no way adversely affect the existing customers of Lashmeet Public Service District. The area to be included will encompass areas in Mercer County identified by Lashmeet Public Service District as the “Giatto-Weyanoke Water System Extension Project.” A complete description of the proposed boundaries is on file with the West Virginia Public Service Commission, the Mercer County Commission and Lashmeet Public Service District.
Anyone desiring to protest or intervene should file a written protest or notice of the intervention within thirty (30) days following the date of this publication. All protests or requests to intervene should briefly state the reason for the protest or intervention. Requests to intervene must comply with the Commission’s rules on intervention, set forth in the Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure. All protests and interventions should be addressed to Ingrid Ferrell, P.O. Box 812, Charleston, West Virginia, 25323. If no substantial protest is filed, the Commission may approve the Mercer County Commission’s order without hearing.
