Justice Assistance Grant

Use of 2015 Direct Assistance Allocations

 

On June 26, 2015 the City of Parkersburg and the Wood County Commission will be submitting a grant application to the U.S. Department of Justice, in the amount of $48,339. This funding has been allocated to the City of Parkersburg and the Wood County Commission from the 2015 Federal Appropriations Bill to assist local law enforcement to combat violence against women, to fight internet crimes against children, to improve the functioning of the criminal justice system, to assist victims of crime, and to support youth mentoring. The U.S. Department of Justice is committed to working with local partners to ensure this funding invests in the American Workforce.

 

On June 12, 2015, a copy of the joint application will be available for review in the Parkersburg Police Department, and the Development Department, which are both located in the Municipal Building at #1 Government Square Parkersburg, WV. The application will also be available for review at the Wood County Sherriff’s Office, which is located at 328 2nd Street in Parkersburg. Written comments concerning the application can be submitted to the City of Parkersburg Development Department: P.O. Box 1627, Parkersburg, WV 26102. Comments may be submitted to the City of Parkersburg until July 12, 2015. Any comments received will be taken into consideration and/or incorporated into the application.
