DEMOLITION & ASBESTOS ABATEMENT CONTRACTOR – INVITATION TO BID
The City of Bluefield, West Virginia is seeking qualifications from contractors interested in providing services to raze all structures, including out buildings, located at 263 and 403 Wild Turkey Road, Bluefield WV in accordance with accepted industry practices and in adherence to the parameters listed:
1) Contractor must be fully licensed by the State of West Virginia, have a current City business license and be current on all monies owed to the City of Bluefield. Contractor must provide proof of liability insurance and worker compensation coverage for all employees on site.
2) Contractor is responsible for any damage to nearby structures caused by demolition or related activities.
3) Prior to demolition, contractor must provide documentation to Code Enforcement Department of the 811 sheet from Miss Utility. The City of Bluefield will see that all public utilities have been removed or retired.
4) Contractor to provide a price that includes total job:
a. Asbestos Abatement
b. Demolition
c. Removal of Material
d. Fill
e. Rough grade site, dressed
with grass seed and straw
5) Contractor to demolish each structure, including all accessory structures. Retaining walls are to be undisturbed.
6) Contractor shall remove and legally dispose of all materials, debris and trash at contractor’s expense.
7) Street to be protected from damage as much as practical. Any large dirt or mud accumulation to be removed from street.
8) Contractor is responsible for providing the documentation confirmation to the West Virginia Code Enforcement Department of the 10-day notification to West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection – Air Quality Division.
9) Contractor will be responsible to comply with all West Virginia Department of Labor prevailing wage rate requirements.
10) Demolition may not begin prior to February 1, and must be completed by February 25, 2020.
11) The City of Bluefield reserves the right to hire multiple contractors.
12) Upon completion, the Contractor must contact the Code Enforcement Department for final inspection.
13) No payments will be given until a member of the Code Enforcement Department has inspected the site for compliance with the bid process.
Sealed bids must be clearly marked “Wild Turkey Road” and will be accepted until Monday, January 27, 2020 @ 2:00 p.m. Bids will be opened at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2020 at 200 Rogers Street, Bluefield, WV. Proposals received after the stated date and time will not be accepted.
