Notice is hereby given that FAIRFAX MATERIALS, INC., PO BOX 850, LAUREL, MD 20725 has submitted an application for RENEWAL of Quarry Article 4 Permit No. Q002574 to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), 47 School Street, Suite 301, Philippi, WV 26416-1600, in order to remove sandstone by conducting quarry operations.
The operation is discharging into Long Run of Blackwater River and is located 3 miles west of THOMAS in FAIRFAX District of Tucker County, Longitude 79°33’19” Latitude 39°8’56” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
Written comments on the Article 4 Quarry Permit Renewal Application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until 12/19/20, or thirty (30) days from the date of publication. A copy of the application will be available for review in the DEP Regional Office located at the address above and is available at:
