TAZEWELL COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Supervisors of Tazewell County, Virginia will conduct a public hearing on November 7, 2019 at 6:45 PM, or as soon thereafter as may be practical, at the Tazewell County Administration Building, located at 197 Main Street, Tazewell, Virginia 24651, and hereby gives its intent to adopt An Ordinance to Adjust the Boundaries of the Enterprise Zone for Tazewell County, Virginia, pursuant to Section 59.1-538 et seq. of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, and Section 15-62 et seq. of the Tazewell County Code of Ordinances.
The proposed Ordinance would adjust the boundaries of the Enterprise Zone to include approximately one hundred fifty-two (152) new real estate parcels to provide local tax incentives to new and expanding businesses in Tazewell County. Such incentives would include, but not be limited to, grants equal to the businesses’ increase in local real and personal property taxes resulting from their expansion.
All persons wishing to comment on the proposed Ordinance are hereby invited to attend and state their views thereon. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if you are physically disabled, hearing or visually impaired, and need special assistance to participate in a meeting of the Board of Supervisors, please contact the County Administrator’s Office by telephone at (276) 385-1322, by fax at (276) 988-4246, or by email at [email protected]. A notification of five (5) working days prior to the meeting will enable the County Administrator’s Office to make reasonable arrangements for those physically impaired to ensure their accessibility to the meeting.
A complete copy of the proposed Ordinance is posted on the Tazewell County Circuit Court’s bulletin board on the second floor of the Tazewell County Courthouse, located at 135 Court Street, Tazewell, Virginia 24651.
