Landmark Commission

Tucker County Historic Landmark Commission (TCHLC), a board of the Tucker County Commission, is seeking upwards of three (3) new members. County citizens with an interest/expertise in history, architectural history, architecture, planning, geography, law, real estate, archaeology, civil engineering, landscape architecture or American studies are preferred. However, all with an interest in historic preservation and furthering TCHLC’s mission* are encouraged to apply. The mission of TCHLC is to encourage the protection of the county’s historic resources by building an awareness of their significance in local, state, and national history. TCHLC works to identify and document eligible properties, designate and recognize properties according to their significance, and promote their educational and economic use for the benefit of the citizens of Tucker County.
Please provide a statement of interest with any experience relating to an area of study/experience from the list above or experience in historic preservation, i.e. rehab of older home; any volunteer architectural, cultural, or historic survey activity; cooperation or membership in a Main Street/ON TRAC program or participation in a local history event.
