NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR CONSTRUCTION BIDS

Sophia Volunteer Fire Department, (hereinafter called “OWNER”0 invites qualified contractors to submit sealed bids for concrete foundation work for a new metal building to house a new fire station. Sealed bids will be received at the office of the architect, 102 North Kanawha Street, Beckley, West Virginia 25801, until 2:00 p.m. local prevailing time, on Thursday, October 10, 2024. At that time bids will be publicly opened and read.

The work of this project consists of the following Lump Sum contract.

Provide all work, including, but not limited to labor materials, equipment, supplies and transportation for concrete foundations, piers, foundation walls, reinforcing, floor slab, etc., as indicated on the foundation plan.

Contract Documents are available for inspection during regular working hours at the office of the OWNER (telephone: 304-673-6630); office of the Architect – J. Dan Snead & Associates, Inc., 101 North Kanawha Street, Suite 203, Beckley, West Virginia, 25801 (telephone: 304/252-6630);

Plans and specifications will be available in digital format.

Interested contractors are encouraged to visit the site to become familiar with existing conditions. A site visit can be arranged by contracting Chief Gary Taylor, 304-673-8864.

Bids shall be submitted on the contractor’s proposal form and shall include a number of days to complete the work. Since time is essential for this project, the contract may be awarded based on the time to complete the work.

The OWNER reserves the right to reject any and all Bids. Any Bid may be withdrawn prior to the above scheduled time for the opening of Bids or authorized postponement thereof. Any Bid received after the time and date specified will not be considered. The contractor will be required to submit an affidavit with bid, certifying that no debt is owned the State of West Virginia or any of its Political Subdivisions.
