PUBLIC NOTICE OF PROPOSED CHANGE IN RATES FOR
WATER SERVICE
NOTICE is hereby given that the Raleigh County Public Service District, a public water utility, proposes to change certain rates, fees and charges for furnishing water service in Raleigh County, West Virginia. The proposed change is required to fund increased cost of purchased water and other cost increases. The change will create a single tariff schedule for all customers and will increase the average residential bill for a typical residential customer. (Tariff Schedule 1 @ 3,000 gallons per month) as follows:
Entire Service Area:
Water Usage Charge (current/proposed): $31.86/$41.60
Monthly Minimum Charge 5/8” meter (current/proposed): $21.24/$26.00
Flat Rate Charge 4,000 gallons (current/proposed): $42.48/$57.20
Leak adjustment rate (current/proposed): $5.08/$5.75 per 1,000 gallons
Tap Fee (current/proposed): $400/$600
The Board of Directors of the Raleigh County Public Service District will hold a public hearing and following vote regarding enactment of the proposed tariff changes at the District’s main office, 224 East Main Street, Sophia West Virginia, on November 13, at 11:00 a.m. Interested parties may appear at this hearing and be heard with respect to the proposed changes. Written comments will be accepted prior to the public hearing and will be made part of the record of the hearing. Written comments will be received at: Raleigh County PSD, P.O.
