RALEIGH COUNTY COMMISSION PUBLIC NOTICE OF CHANGE IN WATER RATES
NOTICE is hereby given that the Raleigh County Public Service District, a public utility, has enacted a tariff containing increased rates for furnishing water service to customers in Raleigh County, West Virginia. The proposed rates and fees will create a single tariff schedule for all customers and will increase the average residential bill for a typical residential customer in the former Raleigh County service area ONLY (Tariff Schedule 1 @ 3,000 gallons per month) as follows:
FORMER RALEIGH COUNTY SERVICE AREA:
Water Usage Charge (current/proposed): $31.86/$41.60
Monthly Minimum Charge 5/8” meter (current/proposed): $21.24/$26.00
Flat Rate Charge 4,000 gallons (current/proposed): $42.48/$57.20
ENTIRE SERVICE AREA:
Leak Adjustment rate: (current/proposed) $5.08/$5.75 per 1,000 gallons
Tap Fee (current/proposed): $400/$600
As authorized by W.Va. Code 16-13A-9 (a)(2)(F), these rates are proposed to become effective for service provided on and after January 18, 2025 no sooner than 45 days after Commission vote, unless ordered otherwise, unless otherwise ordered by the Raleigh County Commission.
In accordance with W.Va. Code 16-13A-9(a)(2)(E), the Raleigh County Commission may approve or reject the proposed rates, fees and charges. Anyone desiring to comment upon the proposed tariff may make written and/or oral comment to the Commission at or prior to a public hearing, to be conducted by the Raleigh County Commission on December 3, 2024 at I0:00 AM in the Commission hearing room, 116 North Heber Street, Beckley, WV.
