Notice is hereby given that POCAHONTAS COAL COMPANY, LLC, 109 Appalachian Drive, Beckley, WV 25801 has submitted an application with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840 for a Phase 1 and Phase 2 release on Permit Number S302007 Increment Number 1 issued for 35.74 acres
The permit is located in Slab Fork District of Raleigh County, 1.5 miles southwest of Josephine (Nearest Post Office) on unnamed tributaries of/and Bragg Branch, unnamed tributaries of/and Lefthand Fork – both of/and Tommy Creek of Stonecoal Creek and unnamed tributary of Pines Creek of Stonecoal Creek and unnamed tributaries of/and Stonecoal Creek of Winding Gulf of Guyandotte River of Middle Ohio River 1.
Pocahontas Coal Company, LLC completed backfilling and regrading and revegetation on 04/01/2019 and is requesting release of 85 percent of the reclamation performance bond currently in the amount of $44,640.00.
