NOTICE that the Town of Ansted Planning Commission will hold a public hearing and meeting on Thursday, June 5, 2025 at 6:00 PM at Town of Ansted Council Chambers, 104 Cemetery Street (above Old Police Department), Ansted, WV 25812. The public is invited to attend and submit comments on the Town of Ansted Comprehensive Plan. Beginning on Thursday, April 17, 2025, a copy of the comprehensive plan can be reviewed at Ansted Town Hall, 30 Rich Creek Road, Ansted, WV 26812 during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 8 AM to 4 PM). The comprehensive plan is also available to view online at https://www.townofansted.com/. Written comments can be submitted prior to the scheduled hearing at Ansted Town Hall, PO Box 798, Ansted, WV 25812 or emailed to [email protected].

Activity:
Project will replace the bridge deck, partially reconstruct abutments and wingwalls to make them jointless, and provide concrete approach slabs with sleeper slabs on the existing Oakvale Bridge carrying US 460 over Mercer County Route 35 and Fivemile Creek. Additionally, to facilitate the construction, roadway crossovers will be constructed on each side of the bridge approach. Typically, these are temporary construction but the WVDOH would like to make them permanent so they will remain in place with drainage upgrades made to facilitate the permanent construction. Pavement overlay and guardrail replacement will also be done.

On the basis of review of the application the “Water Pollution Control Act (Chapter 22, Article 11-8(a)),” and the “West Virginia Legislative Rules,” the State of West Virginia will act on the above application.

Any interested person may submit written comments on the site registration permit application and may request a public hearing by addressing such to the Director of the Division of Water and Waste Management within 30 days of the date of the public notice. The public comment period begins April 18, 2025 and ends May 18, 2025.

Comments received within this period will be considered prior to acting on the permit application. Correspondence should include the name, address and the telephone number of the writer and a concise statement of the nature of the issues raised. The Director shall hold a public hearing whenever a finding is made, on the basis of requests, that there is a significant degree of public interest on issues relevant to the site registration permit application and this facility’s coverage under the General Permit. Interested persons may contact the Public Information Office to obtain further information.

The application may be inspected, by appointment, at the Division of Water and Waste Management Public Information Office, at 601 57th Street SE, Charleston, WV, between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on business days. Copies of the application and the General Permit and Fact Sheet may be obtained from the Division at a nominal cost.
