Notice of Intent to File Application
Bradley Public Service District intends to file an application for federal assistance with the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development. The purpose of this notice is to inform the public of the proposed sewer project, which consists of providing sewer service to approximately 194 customers along County Route 1 known as Clear Fork Road and adjacent roads in and near the communities of Walhonde Villages, Homeschool Village, Dorothy, and Eunice along State Route 3.
Construction is to consist of approximately 41,356 linear feet of force main sewer line, 189 Septic Tank Effluent Pump (STEP) tanks, an 18,900-gallon per day wastewater treatment facility, a 5,000-gallon per day wastewater treatment package plant, removal of existing wastewater treatment package plants, valves, cleanouts, and related appurtenances. Total project cost is estimated at $12,710,128. Proposed funding may include but is not limited to WV DEP Clean Water State Revolving Fund Principal Forgiveness Loan and Loans, Raleigh County Commission Grant and American Rescue Plan Act Grant, WV Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council Grants and Loan, USDA Rural Development Grant and Loan and US Army Corps of Engineers Section 340 Grant.
The public meeting will be held on Thursday May 22, 2025, at 6:30 PM at the Whitesville Volunteer Fire Department located at 1103 Raleigh St., Whitesville, WV 25209 to discuss the Bradley Public Service District: West Raleigh Sewer Project. The purpose of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for the public to become further acquainted with the proposed project and to comment on economic and environmental impacts, service area, or alternatives to the project.
