NOTICE FOR BIDS
The Summers County Board of Education, hereinafter referred to as the Owner, invites qualified contractors to submit sealed bids for the Board Office Interior Renovations at Summers County Middle School. Sealed bids will be received at the offices of the Owner, 116 Main Street, Hinton, WV 25951, until 1:30 p.m., local time, on April 16, 2021 at which time and place the bids will be publicly opened and read.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 11:00 a.m. local time, on April 7, 2021 at the Summers County Middle School, 411 Temple Street, Hinton, WV 25951. Attendance at pre-bid conference is mandatory for prime contract bidders only.
Contract Documents are available for inspection during regular working hours at the office of the OWNER (telephone 304-466-6007).
Scope of Work:
— Remove existing Acoustical Ceiling tile/grid and store for reassembly in new office space.
— Metal stud framing for 8 offices per drawing.
— Insulate all walls and ceiling.
— Hang & finish drywall as per drawing.
— Install solid wood doors and hardware at all office suites.
— Install vinyl baseboard as required.
— HVAC – Modify existing ductwork and install a single diffuser in each office.
— Electrical – remove existing wiring in satellite panel and install new wire from main Distribution Panel to Satellite Panel to meet code requirements.
— Electrical – Install phone/data ports in each office. Wire to be installed by others.
— Electrical – Install four receptacles in each office.
— Electrical – Install total of (30) 2×4 LED Lay-in Lights. Distribution based on square footage of office.
— Electrical – Install (6) Emergency/Exit Lights & (3) Remote heads.
— Cost of Hinton B & O Tax (2%) and Bonding Expense (3%) to be included in estimate.
Each bid shall be accompanied by a bid bond, made payable to the Owner, in the amount of five percent (5%) of the base bid, in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders.
Each Bidder must be registered with the West Virginia Department of Tax and Revenue prior to the time and date for Receipt of Bids in order for his Bid to be considered. Each Bidder’s registration certificate number shall be written in the space provided on the Form of Proposal.
All bidders are required to be licensed to perform work in the State prior to submitting a bid for this project as required by Chapter 21, Article 11, of the Code of West Virginia. Each Bidder’s Contractor license number shall be written in the space provided on the Form of Proposal.
The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids, the right to waive minor informalities and procedures in bidding, and the right to withhold final award of contract for 60 days after opening bids.
The bidder to whom the contract is awarded shall execute and deliver to the Owner within 10 days after the award, and before signing the contract, a Performance Bond and Payment Bond utilizing the bond forms bound in the Project Manual each in a penal sum equal to at least the contract sum and the cost of such bonds shall be included in the bid.
