The West Virginia Division of Highways (WVDOH) will hold an informational public meeting on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Twin Falls State Park Lodge in the Azalea Room located at Route 97, Mullens, Wyoming County, West Virginia.
This meeting serves to update the public on the Coalfields Section – Mullens to Pineville Project. The proposed project is the construction of an approximately 8-mile four-lane divided highway and two access roads. Twin Falls Access Road is approximately 2.8 miles and Mullens Connector is approximately 1-mile. This meeting complies with the public involvement requirements of the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 106 of the National Historic
Preservation Act, and Section 4(f) of the U.S. Department of Transportation Act of 1966. The Coalfields Expressway Project is following all Clean Water Act Section 404 Regulations (USACE 404 permit and WVDEP 401 Water Quality Certification) and WVDEP regulations. The required permit approvals will be in place prior to construction operations beginning.

NO FORMAL PRESENTATION WILL BE MADE. The scheduled informational public meeting is from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m and the public will be afforded the opportunity to ask questions and give written comments on the project throughout
the meeting. A handout with project details will be available at the meeting and on the WVDOH website.
