Notice is hereby given that JHJN Resources, LLC, 265 Brookview Centre Way Suite 205, Knoxville, TN 37919 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 93.44 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S302011 to Operate a highwall mine in the Douglas – – – Kanawha seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Unnamed Tributaries of/and Mile Branch of Dry Fork of Tug Fork River and is located 1.3 miles, Northeast of Avondale in Sandy River District of McDowell County, Longitude 81deg. 45′ 14″ and Latitude 37deg. 25′ 53″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until June 8, 2023, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
