NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
AN ORDINANCE TO PERMIT LICENSING AND REGULATING THE MAINTENANCE AND OPERATION OF AUTOMOBILE GRAVEYARDS AND JUNKYARDS PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 6 OF TITLE 33.1-348 OF THE 1950 CODE OF VIRGINIA, AS AMENDED
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Board of Supervisors of Tazewell County, Virginia, will conduct a public hearing on November 10, 2020 at 6:45 PM, or as soon thereafter as may be practical, at the Tazewell County Administration Building, located at 197 Main Street, Tazewell, Virginia 24651, and hereby gives its intent to reconsider An Ordinance to Permit Licensing and Regulating the Maintenance and Operation of Automobile Graveyards and Junkyards Pursuant to Chapter 6 of Title 33.1-348 of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as Amended.
Sections 15.2-903 and 33.2-804 of the Code of Virginia, and Section 10-181 et seq. of the Tazewell County Code of Ordinances require licensure and regulation of all automobile graveyards and junkyards in Tazewell County. The Board of Supervisors desires public comment regarding potential action by the Board of Supervisors to amend the language and increase the penalties in the Ordinance.
All persons wishing to comment on the Ordinance are hereby invited to attend and state their views thereon. In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, if special assistance is needed to participate in a meeting of the Board of Supervisors, please contact the County Administrator’s Office by telephone at (276) 385-1322, by facsimile at (276) 988-4246, or by email at [email protected]. A notification of five (5) working days before the meeting will enable the County Administrator’s Office to make reasonable arrangements to ensure accessibility to the meeting.
