Electronic Voting Systems Test of Automatic Tabulating Equipment

The Town Recorder of the Town of Fayetteville shall have the automatic tabulating equipment tested to ascertain that it will accurately count the votes cast for all offices and on all measures on May 26, 2023, at 1 :00 p.m. at the Fayette County Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Building, located at 200 W. Maple Avenue, Fayetteville, WV. This test shall consist of a test of the entire voting system, including removal of data from a vote-recording device and its transferal to automatic tabulating equipment.

A test performed pursuant to S 3-4A-26 shall be open to representatives of the political parties, candidates, the press, and the public. For each office, the test shall include one or more ballots which have voters in excess of the number allowed by law in order to test the ability of the automatic tabulating equipment to reject votes. If, in the process of any of the test counts, any error is detected, the cause of the error is to be ascertained and corrective action promptly taken.
