PUBLIC NOTICE
The U.S. Department of Commerce, Economic Development Administration (EDA) is considering a request for Federal assistance for the Town of Pineville to construct a water line and pump station along WV Route 97 West of Pineville, West Virginia. US EDA funding is proposed to be used for construction invoices related to replacing distribution water lines, water treatment plant upgrades (replace all pneumatic valves with electric valves, replace filter media, water treatment plant generator to power the plant during electrical service interruptions, new roof, new metal storage building laboratory and bathroom renovations, SCADA System, repair cracks in clarifier tanks, demolish older original water treatment plant building), upgrade of the raw water intake (new electrical service, new air burst system, new jib crane for pump removal, new safety railings), replacement of approximately fifty valves and approximately seventy fire hydrants throughout the system, four new master meters for water accountability, water tank evaluations, tank mixer, tank telemetry, a new booster station on WV Route 97, and replace 6-inch water line with 8-inch waterline from downtown Pineville to the new booster station site on WV Route 97. Pursuant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA), U.S. EDA is conducting an assessment of the potential of the proposed project to affect the environment and/or historic properties. Notice is hereby given that the project is proposed to be located in, or may affect, a floodplain, as defined by Executive Order (EO) 11988 and/or EO 11990. In addition, clearance from US Fish and Wildlife Service will be required prior to the start of construction.
