Notice is hereby given that Panther Creek Mining, LLC 250 W. Main Street, Suite 2000, Lexington, KY 40507 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 580.7 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S304191 to Coal Surface Mine in the Winifrede to Chilton seam of coal. The operation is discharging into Right Fork and Laurel Branch of Armstrong Creek; Laurel Branch, Unknown Branch, Hickory Camp Btranch and Unnamed Tributaries of Paint Creek of the Kanawha River and is located 4.32 miles, southwest of Powellton in Valley Districts of Fayette County, Longitude 81o20’44” and Latitude 38o02’20” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall indentify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until 10/07/2023, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
