Notice is hereby given that LEXINGTON COAL COMPANY, LLC, PO BOX 58370, CHARLESTON, WV 25358 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 1160.3 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, at 1101 George Kostas Drive, Logan, WV, 25601, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number S502007 to operate and maintain a Coal Surface Mine, Auger and Highwall Mine in the Stockton, Coalburg, Winifrede, Chilton, and associated splits and riders, seams of coal.
The operation is discharging into unnamed tributaries of Matts Creek and Matts Creek of West Fork of Pond Fork of Little Coal River, and Hazy Creek of Marsh Fork of Big Col River, all of Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 3.09 miles, southeast of Twilight, WV in Crook and Marsh Fork Districts of Boone and Raleigh Counties, Longitude 81deg. 34′ 16″ and Latitude 37deg. 52′ 59″ (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).
