Pursuant to the requirements of Section 102(2)(c) of the National Environmental Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA), and in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration Orders 1050.1F and 5050.4B, the Mercer County Airport Authority is hereby providing official notice of availability for review of the Final Environmental Assessment document and Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) document prepared for the following project:

DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITY: The Mercer County Airport Authority is proposing a project to remove approximately 1.95 acres of trees which are currently penetrating the approach surface of Runway 5 at the Mercer County Airport. The trees which are designated to be removed will be cut within 12″ of the existing ground surface and removed from the site. Upon completion of the proposed project, all disturbed areas will be reclaimed and re-seeded in order to establish an adequate stand of vegetative cover. The proposed project will also consist of the acquisition of approximately 2.30 acres of property to aid in the obstruction removal effort and allow the Airport Authority the ability to exercise the required level of control over the airport’s airspace.

INFORMATION AVAILABLE: The Final Environmental Assessment and FONSI documents will be available for public review until October 22, 2023,between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, at the following locations:
