NOTICE OF FILING
On July 5, 2023, Mountain Mama Medical, LLC, filed an application with the West Virginia Public Service Commission under West Virrrinia Code ยง24A-2-5 for a certificate
of public convenience and necessity –
To operate as a common carrier by motor vehicle in the transportation of passengers in specialized multi-passenger van service through the use of wheelchair accessible vans, to and from physician offices, hospitals, and other health care facilities, such transportation being restricted to those
passengers who will receive, or have received, services at such offices, hospitals, and other health care facilities, between points and placers in Mercer, Monroe, Raleigh, McDowell, Summers and Wyoming Counties, on the one hand, and points and places in West Virginia, on the other hand, subject to the following exclusion: the transportation of those individuals who have medical needs greater than those of the average population and who are expected to require the presence of a trained emergency medical technician during the transport. The Commission does not have jurisdiction
over the provision of emergency medical services, which lies with the Commissioner of the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health.
Rates: $40.00 load fee for up to the first ten (10) miles, then $2.00 per mile after the initial ten miles.
Anyone affected by or opposed to the application must object, in writing, file a letter of protest or seek intervenor status in this matter within ten days of this publication. All such letters must be addressed to: Karen Buckley, Executive Secretary, Public Service Commission of West Virginia, P. 0. Box 812, Charleston, West Virginia 25323. If no written protests or objections to the application are received by the Commission within ten days, the Commission may waive formal hearing and grant the application based upon its review of information submitted with the application.
