BEFORE THE COUNTY
COMMISSION OF MARION COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA

ORDER CONSOLIDATING PRECINCTS, ESTABLISHING BOUNDARY LINES OF
CONSOLIDATED PRECINCTS, CREATING A NEW PRECINCT, AND DESIGNATING POLLING PLACES OF CONSOLIDATED PRECINCTS AND NEW
PRECINCT IN MARION COUNTY, WEST VIRGINIA

WHEREAS, Chapter 3, Article 1, Section 5 of the revised Code of West Virginia provides that the County Commission of any county shall utilize precincts for the basic territorial election unit; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned code further provides that the County Commission of any county shall divide each Magisterial District of the County into election precincts, shall number the precincts, and shall determine and establish the boundaries thereof; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 3, Article 1, Section 5(b) of the revised code of West Virginia provides that in order to facilitate the conduct of local and special elections and the use of election registration records therein, precinct boundaries shall be established to coincide with the boundaries of any municipality of the county and with the wards or other geographical districts of the municipality, except in instances where found by the county commission to be wholly impracticable so to do; and
WHEREAS, Chapter 3 Article 1 Section 7 of the revised Code of West Virginia provides that the County Commission of any county may change the boundaries of any precinct within the county, or divide any precinct into two or more precincts, or consolidate two or more precincts into one, or change the location of any polling place whenever the public convenience may require it.
Therefore, The County Commission of Marion County, West Virginia does hereby ORDER that the following precincts in Marion County, West Virginia, shall be consolidated and that the boundary lines of such consolidated precincts shall be established as set forth on the maps attached to the Order of Intent entered by the Marion County Commission on the 27th day of September 2023, and that the designated polling places for such consolidated precincts as follows:
Precinct 110 shall be consolidated into Precinct 117. Precinct 117 shall encompass voters wholly within the boundaries of the municipality of Pleasant Valley. The polling place for Precinct 117 shall be the Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department located at 1707 Pleasant Valley Road, Fairmont WV 26554.
Precincts 111 shall be consolidated into Precinct 119. Precinct 119 shall encompass voters wholly within the boundaries of the municipality of Pleasant Valley. The polling place for voters of Precinct 119 shall be the Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department located at 1707 Pleasant Valley Road, Fairmont WV 26554.
It is further Ordered that to accommodate an increasing population of voters in the Pleasant Valley area of Marion County outside of the municipal boundaries of the municipality of Pleasant Valley that Precinct 109 shall be and hereby is established. The polling place for voters of Precinct 109 shall be the Pleasant Valley Volunteer Fire Department located at 1707 Pleasant Valley Road, Fairmont WV 26554.
The boundary lines of Precinct 109 shall be established as set forth on the maps attached to the Order of Intent entered by the Marion County Commission on the 27th day of September 2023,
