Notice is hereby given that MARION COUNTY COAL RESOURCES, INC., 46226 NATIONAL ROAD, ST. CLAIRSVILLE, OH 43950 has submitted an application to the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) 47 School Street, Suite 301, Philippi, WV, 26416-1600 for a significant permit revision to Article 3 permit number U007883 in order to add 18.29 acres for the construction and operation of the 10 South No. 1 Shaft. There are four waivers being sought with this application. A waiver to exceed acreage limitation, a waiver to be within 100 feet of a public road (Rte 2), a waiver to be within 100 feet of a stream and a waiver for post-mining land use change from Forestland to Hayland/Pasture land use.
The revised permit will discharge into Left Fork Campbell Run; Pyles Fork; Buffalo Creek to Monongahela River (Receiving Stream) of MONONGAHELA RV (Major Subbasin) and is located 2.7 (miles), southeast (Direction) of Burton (Nearest PO), in the Mannington District of Marion County, Longitude 80° 23’ 51” and Latitude 39° 37’ 57” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map)

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the surface mining application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until 01/05/24, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
