SOLICITATION OF BIDS
CITY OF BLUEFIELD
SNOWPLOWING AND SALT TREATMENT OF CITY OWNED PARKING LOTS
The City of Bluefield, West Virginia will receive sealed bids from qualified persons or businesses for plowing and salt treating parking lots owned by the City of Bluefield for the 2023-2024 season subject to the following conditions:
1. Successful Bidders must have a West Virginia business license, and a business license from the City of Bluefield.
2. Successful Bidders must show they have a minimum insurance policy of one million dollars ($1,000,000) per occurrence and the City of Bluefield shall be named an additional insured.
3. Bidders shall submit bids for each lot contained within the mapped parking lots. Bidders may request a bid package containing a map of the included parking lots to be plowed and treated with salt per snow event.
4. The successful bidder will remove the snow and apply salt treatment to each of the subject parking lots one time per snow event with additional treatments as directed by the City’s Public Works Director. Bids are to express the price of each lot per snow event treatments as listed above, as well as the total cost of all lots per event. The contract will be awarded to the bidder with the lowest total cost of all the lots.
5. Bids will be accepted until Friday, December 1, 2023, at 9:00 a.m.
6. Bids will be opened Friday, December 1, 2023, at 10:00 a.m.
7. Bids should be sealed, clearly marked “ATTENTION: ROBERT LUTHER, CITY CLERK SNOW PLOWING BID 2023-2024” and sent to Bluefield, West Virginia City Hall located at 200 Rogers Street, Bluefield, WV 24701 by mail or hand delivery.
8. The City of Bluefield reserves the right to contract with one or more businesses as the City deems to be in its best interest. Any questions about the project should be directed to Candy Sayers at [email protected] or (304) 327-2401 ext. 2490.
9. The City of Bluefield will afford full opportunity to minority business enterprises to submit a show of interest to this invitation and will not discriminate against any interested business or individual based on race, creed, color, sex. age, handicap, or national origin.
10. The City of Bluefield reserves the right to reject all bids: waive informalities; and accept the bids that are in the best interests of the City of Bluefield.
