Notice is hereby given that MARFORK COAL COMPANY, LLC, PO BOX 457, 370 PACKVILLE/MARFORK ROAD, WHITESVILLE, WV 25209 has a permit on file with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) for the surface mining of approximately 100.45 acres and has submitted an application to the DEP, 1159 Nick Rahall Greenway, Fayetteville, WV, 25840, for renewal of Article 3 Permit Number O302493 to maintain and operate a coal preparation plant and related facilities in the N/A seam of coal.
The operation is discharging into Little Marsh Fork of Marsh Fork of Big Coal River of Coal River of Kanawha River and is located 2.5 miles, southwest of DOROTHY in MARSH FORK District of Raleigh County, Longitude 81° 30’ 55” and Latitude 37° 56’ 44” (Coordinates from USGS Topographic Map).

Written comments and/or requests for an informal conference of the permit renewal application shall identify the applicant and application number and will be received by the Permit Supervisor at the DEP address above until January 28, 2024, or thirty (30) days from the date of final publication.
